What happened after Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives?
Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives featured The Elegant Farmer's farm-to-table, locally sourced Southern cooking on the episode "Handcrafted," which aired 2012-10-15, according to the show's own episode archive. The Elegant Farmer originally operated at 262 S. Highland Street in Memphis under chef-owner Mac Edwards. According to Memphis Magazine (2022-03-15), Edwards closed that location and, eleven years after first opening it, reopened the concept on December 15, 2021 as The Farmer at Railgarten at 2158 Central Avenue, with chef de cuisine Armando Sandoval now running the kitchen day-to-day; Edwards described Sandoval to the magazine as "a natural leader." Food Network's restaurant directory still lists the business under its original name, noting the rebrand.
