What happened after Best Thing I Ever Ate?
The Best Thing I Ever Ate (Food Network) featured The Red Cat's fried course in the show's 'Totally Fried' episode. The Red Cat was an American bistro in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan, opened in 1999 by chef Jimmy Bradley with restaurateur Danny Abrams. According to Patch, the restaurant closed in December 2018 after nearly 20 years in business; Bradley said he was 'ready for a change' and that the restaurant had 'had a great run.' Patch also reported that by the time it closed, The Red Cat had mentored a generation of New York chefs, including Amanda Freitag, Harold Dieterle, and Joey Campanaro. A GayCities New York City restaurant listing also marks the location as closed. A September 8, 2026 check of the address on file found the domain now resolving to an unrelated auto-shop website, with no restaurant content present.
