What happened after Food Paradise?
The episode featured The Sutler Saloon for its live-music stage and Southern bar food, served across two levels of a historic building in Nashville's Melrose neighborhood. The Sutler originally opened in 1976 and was revived in September 2014 by Austin Ray of A. Ray Hospitality along with Joe, Gary, and David Parkes of The Parkes Companies as a tribute to the original bar, according to Nashville Post. WSMV reported that the owners announced in March 2022 that the venue would close, with its final day of service on Sunday, March 13, 2022, after a seven-year run under the revival ownership. The Nashville Scene reported that repeated basement flooding, which also affected the adjoining Rambler cocktail bar and Melrose Billiards, contributed to the decision. Google's business listing for the 8th Avenue South address still shows it as permanently closed.
