Guy Fieri visited The Grilled Cheeserie, then operating as a food truck, for the December 23, 2013 episode "Family Time," according to a recap on FoodiePie's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives tracker. The business was founded by chef Crystal De Luna-Bogan, a Le Cordon Bleu-trained cook, and her husband Joseph, who moved the concept from Los Angeles to Nashville, according to a feature on shewholovesfoodandtravel.com. The truck later expanded into a brick-and-mortar restaurant.

In "Takeout: Bringing Comfort Home" (aired 2020-08-28), Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives revisited The Grilled Cheeserie, a Nashville grilled-cheese truck turned restaurant. According to the Grilled Cheeserie's own press page, Guy Fieri highlighted the pimento mac and cheese sandwich, made with Tennessee cheddar and homemade mayo, then topped with bacon and tomato before grilling.
