What happened after Food Paradise?
The 'American Eats' episode featured The Wienery, a Stamford hot dog stand on Bridge Street known for Sabrett all-beef hot dogs, Angus burgers, grinders, and Italian ices. Hey Stamford reported in a 2022-06-04 article that co-owners Steve Sabia and Mike Palmer had by then been running the stand for more than ten years, placing its founding around 2012. A Yelp listing updated 2026-07 showed 162 reviews for the business with no indication of closure, according to Yelp. A September 8, 2026 check of the restaurant's own site, thewienery.com, found the page live and displaying current-year content, according to thewienery.com. The Wienery has also won 'Best Hot Dogs in Stamford' recognition in multiple separate years, including 2020 and 2021, according to Discover Stamford, and continues to operate at the same Bridge Street address today.
