What Happened to Ace's Sports Hangar After Bar Rescue? (The Colony, TX)

Ace's Sports Hangar appeared on Bar Rescue season 8, episode 14, "Ace's Wild," which aired March 27, 2022, at 6520 Cascades Ct in The Colony, Texas; fan recap coverage of the episode places Jon Taffer's visit in November 2021. According to fan recap coverage of the episode, the bar was owned by Will and Candace Kuhn, described as seasoned bar owners, and Taffer's on-air rescue renamed the business Ace's A Sporting Bar & Grill, a name the owners kept for a time afterward. A fan recap site devoted to tracking the bar's post-show status reported that the location was sold on February 1, 2022, roughly two months after Taffer's visit and before the episode had even aired on television.

That page quoted a Facebook post by co-owner Will Kuhn: "Well today marks the day that Candace sold her first location." The new owners rebranded the venue as Twisted Bar & Grill, which a separate business page describes as continuing to operate at the same address as a sports bar with updated decor and an expanded entertainment lineup, though that page did not carry a specific current date. Yelp's listing for the location under its original name, "Ace's Sports Hangar - The Colony," was marked permanently closed as of a June 2026 update according to the page itself, consistent with the underlying business having been sold and renamed rather than continuing under its Bar Rescue-era name. Because the buyers replaced the Ace's name with their own under a new liquor permit, issued in May 2022 according to Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission records, the Ace's location featured on the show is considered closed, and Twisted Bar & Grill is a separate business.
