What happened after Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives?

Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives visited Aviv in Portland, Oregon, for the April 17, 2020 episode "Hometown Inspiration," featuring the restaurant's Middle Eastern-inspired vegan cooking made without meat or dairy. Aviv was co-owned by Sanjay Chandrasekaran, who also ran the Portland vegan Indian restaurant Sudra, and the business grew to operate multiple locations around the city, including outposts in the Pearl District and on Southeast Division Street. Yelp's page for the Division Street location was updated in August 2026 and marked the restaurant permanently closed, and Wikipedia's entry on the restaurant, revised 2026-09-07, reports that Aviv closed in 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic. Aviv also operated a Killingsworth Street location at one point, one of several Portland addresses it used over the years.
