Baked is a bakery and cafe that pastry chefs Matt Lewis and Renato Poliafito opened in 2005 at 359 Van Brunt Street in the Red Hook neighborhood of Brooklyn, best known for its dense, fudgy "Baked Brownie," which America's Test Kitchen and NBC's Today Show both named the best brownie. The shop's desserts have also been featured on the Martha Stewart Show, the Today Show, Food Network, Cooking Channel, and the Style Network. The bakery is separate from a similarly named wholesale cracker and flatbread producer, Baked in Brooklyn, which operates out of Sunset Park, Brooklyn, and should not be confused with the Red Hook shop. According to the business's own website, bakednyc.com, checked September 7, 2026 and carrying a 2026 copyright notice, Lewis and Poliafito "still own and operate the bakery," in the site's own words, in addition to writing best-selling cookbooks under the Baked name.
