Bar 8 Is Now Legacy Bar & Venue — What Happened After Bar Rescue?

Bar 8, at 630 S Sam Houston Pkwy W in Houston, Texas, appeared in Bar Rescue's ninth season episode "Honey, I Bought a Bar!," which aired April 13, 2025 on Paramount Network. According to Bar Rescue fan site Reality TV Updates, the bar's owner had purchased it as a gift for her husband, who was said to be unhappy about the purchase, and the business was losing money at the time Jon Taffer's team arrived. Taffer's team renamed the bar Legacy Bar & Venue during the makeover, according to the same fan-site coverage, repositioning it as an upscale lounge.

The relaunch kept the location and, per available sources, the same ownership while changing the bar's name and positioning; the specific decor or menu changes made during the visit were not detailed in the sources reviewed for this update. Legacy Bar & Venue continues to operate at the Sam Houston Parkway address under its post-show name. According to Yelp, whose listing for the address (still indexed under the "Bar 8" name) was updated in September 2026, the location remains an active lounge. The business also maintains a Facebook page under the name "Legacy Bar & Venue" and an Instagram account, @legacybarandvenue, both describing it as an exclusive lounge in Houston.

A Google Places listing for the same coordinates shows the location as operational. Its listed phone number is consistent across the Yelp and directory listings found for the address, a further sign that the business has not changed hands or contact information since the relaunch. Reviews summarized by Reality TV Updates and Bar Rescue Updates describe the venue and drink offerings positively since the relaunch, and no source reviewed for this update reports a subsequent closure, sale or further name change. The available evidence indicates Legacy Bar & Venue -- the renamed Bar 8 -- remained open under its post-show name and branding as of the most recent listing update found.
