Pete's Cutting Board Reuben Tavern & Grill Is Now Pete's Butcher Block Bar

Pete's Cutting Board Reuben Tavern & Grill, at 50225 Gratiot Ave in Chesterfield Township, Michigan, appeared in Bar Rescue's ninth season episode "Pete's Ruined Tavern," which aired March 16, 2025 on Paramount Network. In keeping with the show's format, the episode's focus was the tavern's operations, drink program and sales ahead of a renovation and relaunch under a lightly adjusted version of the owners' existing name. The specific problems identified on air and the changes Jon Taffer's team made to the bar's layout or menu were not detailed in the sources reviewed for this update.

Pete's Cutting Board & Reuben Tavern remains active at the featured address. According to a Wheree business directory listing updated in July 2026, the tavern is listed as an operating American restaurant and bar & grill at 50225 Gratiot Ave, with a customer rating built on hundreds of reviews. Restaurantji, a separate review aggregator, lists 127 reviews for the same address and describes a menu built around a signature Reuben sandwich and loaded cheese fries, consistent with the tavern's name. A Google Places listing for the same coordinates also shows the location as operational.

Multiple independent directories -- including Zmenu, WanderBoat and Restaurantji -- describe Pete's Cutting Board & Reuben Tavern as a dive-bar-style neighborhood spot with a weekly trivia night, none of which report a closure, sale or additional name change since the Bar Rescue episode aired. The tavern's name, address and general concept as a Reuben-focused bar and grill match what was shown when it was featured on the show in March 2025. Posted hours across these listings run from 11 a.m. to roughly midnight on weeknights and extend to 2 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, with a shorter Sunday schedule beginning at noon.

Bar Rescue renamed the bar Pete's Butcher Block Bar, and Distractify reported on March 24, 2025, about a week after the episode aired, that it appeared to be operating under the new name, though its Facebook page still listed the old one. In an October 2026 check, Google's listing for 50225 Gratiot Avenue showed Pete's Butcher Block Bar as operating, and no source described a closure, relocation, or change of ownership since the Bar Rescue appearance.
