What happened after Best Thing I Ever Ate?
The episode 'With Garlic' featured Bove's, a family-run Italian restaurant on Pearl Street known for its slow-simmered red sauce and classic Italian-American cooking. Founded in 1941, Bove's had served pasta, lasagna, and meatballs to Burlington diners for nearly 75 years. Seven Days reported on 2015-09-04 that the Bove family would close the restaurant to focus on their wholesale pasta-sauce and catering operations. VTDigger reported on 2017-12-06 that the vacant Pearl Street building, known for its Art Deco black Carrara-glass facade, still awaited redevelopment. WCAX reported on 2025-07-29 that the Bove family was moving forward with plans to redevelop the long-closed restaurant site. The Bove family's sauce and catering business continues to operate separately, according to boves.com. Yelp's own listing for the Pearl Street address, last updated July 2026, also marks the business as permanently closed, consistent with the news reporting.
