What happened after Best Thing I Ever Ate?
The episode 'With Garlic' featured Schiller's Liquor Bar, a bistro-style restaurant and bar on Rivington Street on Manhattan's Lower East Side, part of restaurateur Keith McNally's group, which also includes Balthazar. Schiller's opened in 2003 and served French-inflected bistro fare and cocktails for 14 years. According to DNAinfo, reporting 2017-05-16, general manager Rich Bubbico said a landlord rent increase made a new lease unaffordable, forcing the closure. The Lo-Down NY reported around the same time that the bar was closing in August 2017. Patch later reported that Schiller's served its last customers in August 2017, ending a 14-year run on the Lower East Side. No reopening or successor business at 131 Rivington Street was found during this check, and the address does not currently appear under the Schiller's name on any active restaurant listing.
