Part 2 — Season 3, Episode 1 Aired
Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives visited Brownstone Diner & Pancake Factory for its towering stacks of buttermilk pancakes and classic breakfast plates during the 'Big Breakfast' episode. The diner was a Jersey City institution opened by Pete and Irene Bournias in 1968 at 426 Jersey Avenue in the Van Vorst Park neighborhood. Hoboken Girl reported on 2019-12-12 that the space closed for renovations and reopened on December 9, 2019 as Life Pancake Company, run by the Bourniases' daughter Zoe Bournias, who kept buttermilk pancakes at the center of the menu while adding options like gluten-free batter and avocado toast. A Yelp listing updated 2026-07 shows Life Pancake Company still operating at the same address with a full bar and expanded brunch menu.
