What happened after Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives?

Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives opened its "All Kinds of Meat" episode at this DC restaurant, sampling the pastrami poblano sandwich, house-made chorizo, and Moroccan cigars, and calling the spot a "carnivore compound" built on owners Oded and Rachel's Jewish-Moroccan recipes, according to the restaurant's own website. The original Carving Room operated in the Mount Vernon Triangle neighborhood before the owners opened a second location, CR NoMa, in Spring 2019, per the same source. As of a September 21, 2026 check, the restaurant's own About page states that Carving Room Kitchen & Bar opened in early 2013 and closed in late 2021 as a result of the pandemic. Per that page, only the sister restaurant, CR NoMa at 140 M Street NE, remains open. Yelp lists the original Massachusetts Avenue NW address as closed, per a March 2026 update.
