What happened after Best Thing I Ever Ate?
Jaleo is chef Jose Andres's contemporary Spanish tapas concept, built around small plates such as patatas bravas, jamon iberico, and paella meant for sharing. According to Jaleo's own website, checked September 8, 2026, the Washington location opened in 1993 as Andres's original restaurant and is credited on the site with helping turn the Penn Quarter neighborhood, near Capital One Arena, into what it is today. The same website lists the DC restaurant, at 480 7th Street Northwest, as one of three current Jaleo locations, alongside Disney Springs in Florida and Las Vegas, Nevada, and shows an active online ordering and reservations system for the DC address. No 2026-dated press coverage or third-party review beyond the restaurant's own site was located to independently confirm current hours.
