Spice Island Grill operated two Colorado Springs locations, including this Sierra Madre Street restaurant, for 12 years. According to the Colorado Springs Gazette, the restaurant's owners announced on Facebook on January 23, 2023 that both locations were closing permanently, citing a shortage of qualified workers, rising prices, and falling demand. A Yelp listing updated in July 2026 continues to mark Spice Island Grill as closed, and the business's website, spiceislandgrill.com, no longer returns any response.
