What happened after Man v. Food?

Cloverleaf Bar & Restaurant, on Gratiot Avenue in Eastpointe, Michigan, was opened in 1953 by Gus and Anna Guerra, the same couple credited with inventing Detroit-style pan pizza at their earlier restaurant, Buddy's Rendezvous, according to Wikipedia's article on Detroit-style pizza. The episode was titled for Detroit, but Cloverleaf is in Eastpointe, an inner-ring suburb bordering Detroit to the north. The Detroit Free Press named Cloverleaf its 2020 Restaurant of the Year Classic, per the same Wikipedia article, and pizza journalist Michael Schafer's 2013 profile in Hour Detroit described the business as still run by Guerra family members. Food Republic reported on June 16, 2026 that Cloverleaf, at 24443 Gratiot Ave. in Eastpointe, continues to serve its Detroit-style square pies.
