What happened after Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives?

Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives visited Crystal Restaurant in Pittsburgh on the "A Taste of Everywhere" episode, aired 2008-09-15, as one of the stops featured on that episode; the business served a mix of American classics and Lebanese specialties. Crystal Restaurant operated on Penn Avenue in Pittsburgh, at what current sources give as 1211 Penn Avenue. The business later operated under the name Crystal on Penn, and the Food Network's own restaurant directory page for the address is titled "Crystal On Penn (UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP)," indicating a change in ownership at some point after the DDD episode aired.

Yelp's listing for the business, updated May 2026, marks it "CRYSTAL ON PENN - CLOSED." A public listing updated 2026-05 marks the Penn Avenue location as permanently closed. Pittsburgh City Paper's own page referencing "Crystal Restaurant and Lounge" at the address was also found among the sources reviewed, though it does not carry a clear current-status date.
