What happened after Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives?
Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives visited Dari-ette Drive-In on St. Paul's East Side in the 'American Cookin'' episode, highlighting the seasonal drive-in's meatball subs, Burger-ettes, and banana milkshakes served at parking-lot picnic tables. The Fida family opened the Italian-American drive-in in 1951, and three generations of the family ran it; owner Angela Fida, who grew up next door to the business, took over operations in 1998. The Minnesota Star Tribune reported on 2020-02-04 that the property was listed for sale for $384,900, a price that included the drive-in's green, white, and red marquee sign, and noted it was the only drive-in left within the Minneapolis-St. Paul city limits. A Yelp business listing updated in May 2026 marks Dari-ette Drive-In as permanently closed.
