What Happened to Flood Tide After Restaurant: Impossible (Food Network)?

Restaurant: Impossible (Food Network) visited Flood Tide, the restaurant inside the Inn at Mystic in Mystic, Connecticut, for the seventh episode of the series, which aired March 2, 2011. Flood Tide had operated since the 1960s and, according to local coverage previewing the episode, had declined significantly from its earlier success by the time Robert Irvine arrived to film. The restaurant sat on a hilltop overlooking Mystic's harbor, a setting local coverage described as one of Flood Tide's biggest assets despite the problems that had built up in its kitchen and dining room over time, including a menu and decor that reviewers said no longer matched the quality of the water view the dining room offered.

Over the show's usual two-day rescue window, Irvine's team overhauled the menu and refreshed the dining room in an effort to match the quality of the food and service to the restaurant's water-view setting and its longstanding reputation as a special-occasion destination in town. Flood Tide did not survive long after the show. The local guide ThisIsMystic.com listed the restaurant as permanently closed in a post published January 14, 2014, without giving an exact closure date. Flood Tide closed in November 2013 while the property was for sale, Food Network Gossip reported, and after the Inn at Mystic sold for $5.35 million in March 2014, the new owners opened a different restaurant, Harbour House, in the space.

Harbour House later closed, and the space has since become Rocks 21, according to the fan site Reality TV Revisited. Yelp's listing for the address at 3 Williams Ave, Mystic, CT, updated in September 2026, still carries the "Flood Tide Restaurant" name and marks it permanently closed, reflecting that Flood Tide never reopened after the property changed hands and the space was redeveloped as a different restaurant under new management.
