What happened after Man v. Food?
In the same Mystic-area episode, Casey Webb stopped at Abbott's Lobster in the Rough in the village of Noank for a Connecticut shore dinner, eating steamed lobster and clam chowder at outdoor picnic tables looking over Noank Harbor. The seafood shack traces to 1947, when Ernie Abbott converted a former chowder cannery into a waterside, eat-outdoors restaurant; the Mears family bought it in the early 1980s and still runs it today. It remains BYOB and seasonal, closing through the winter. Since the February 25, 2020 episode aired, Abbott's has continued to reopen every spring; its own website posts 2026 season hours showing it running daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., the same format the show captured, and a 2026 local TV report on its seasonal reopening confirms it is still operating on Pearl Street in Noank.
