What happened after Man v. Food?
Man v. Food's Mystic, Connecticut episode ended with Casey Webb attempting Mel's Downtown Creamery's Big Kahuna Challenge, a large multi-scoop sundae, which he finished on camera in 15 minutes and 11 seconds, as reported by the Westerly Sun. The shop operates on West Broad Street in Pawcatuck, part of the Stonington/greater Mystic shoreline area, and has since expanded to a second location in Colchester, Connecticut. It is a seasonal, family-style ice cream stand known locally for its challenge menu and rotating flavor list. The episode aired February 25, 2020.
Since then, Mel's has continued operating at the same Pawcatuck address; a Tripadvisor listing updated in February 2026 shows posted hours for the shop, and its Facebook page remains active with 2026 posts. The Big Kahuna Challenge is still listed among the shop's specialty offerings according to its own website.
