What happened after Man v. Food?
On the Mystic, Connecticut episode of Man v. Food, Casey Webb visited Engine Room to sample its burger program, including an off-menu Portuguese-inspired creation known among regulars as the Nazir Burger. The restaurant occupies the restored Lathrop Marine Engine building on the Mystic River, a nod to the site's industrial past. Engine Room opened in 2013 and built its menu around locally sourced American comfort food, a wide craft-beer list, and a rotating weekly burger-and-beer pairing on Monday nights. Since the episode aired on February 25, 2020, the restaurant has continued operating at the same Holmes Street address, with Yelp and OpenTable both showing active 2026 listings, current hours, and recent customer photos posted this year. The Monday burger-and-brew special remains part of its regular offerings according to its own website.
