What happened after Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives?
Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives featured Fud at Salud in the episode "Not Your Typical Joints," which aired 2017-03-24, spotlighting the deli's chicken-and-waffle "waffle-wiches." Fud at Salud operated as a deli inside Salud Beer Shop in Charlotte's NoDa neighborhood at 3306 N Davidson St. According to Charlotte Magazine, owner Jeff McElwee later moved Fud at Salud out of that shared space and partnered with Queen City Grounds, a coffee shop on North Church Street in uptown Charlotte, with plans to add a food truck. A DDD-location fan site, dinersdriveinsdiveslocations.com, updated 2025-06-19, lists the original Davidson Street concept as permanently closed. Salud Beer Shop, the beer bar that had hosted Fud at Salud, opened its own in-house kitchen in the vacated space, according to Charlotte Magazine, and continues to operate at the same North Davidson Street address.
