What happened after Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives?
Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives featured The Original Marini's Empanada House in the episode "Goin' International," which aired 2017-04-07, spotlighting the restaurant's variety of empanadas. The Original Marini's Empanada House is an empanada restaurant in Houston, Texas, located in a shopping center at 10001 Westheimer Rd. A website check on 2026-09-08 found theoriginalmarinis.com online and functional, with an active "Order Now" ordering system and a reviews page citing past praise from the Houston Chronicle's dining guide. Google Places also listed the business as operational at the same Westheimer Road address referenced on the site. No indication of a closure, rename, or ownership change was found; the working ordering platform and consistent branding indicate The Original Marini's Empanada House continues to operate under its original name at its original Houston location.

We work hard to keep every status accurate and dated, but restaurants change fast and our sources aren't perfect. If something here is wrong — a status, a name, an address, anything — tell us what you're seeing and where you saw it, and we'll check it.
