What happened after Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives?
Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives featured The Improper Pig in the episode "Beef, Lamb and Pig," which aired 2017-03-31, spotlighting the restaurant's wood-smoked barbecue with Asian-inspired flavors. The Improper Pig launched in 2014, growing out of the Mama Fu's restaurant group, blending Carolina barbecue traditions with wok-fired cooking. Axios reported on 2026-02-09 that the business opened a new flagship restaurant at 1600 Central Ave in Charlotte's Plaza Midwood neighborhood, and WCCB Charlotte reported on 2026-04-10 that the flagship location was open and operating. Online ordering through Toast was set up for the Central Avenue address, and Google Places listed the business as operational at that same location as of a check on 2026-09-08, indicating The Improper Pig continues to operate under its original name at this address.
