What happened after Food Paradise?
'Extreme Eats' featured Funky Fries and Burgers, a casual burger spot in El Cajon known for its loaded fries and specialty burgers, branded on its site as '#stayfunky.' The restaurant operates from Washington Avenue in downtown El Cajon and runs a rewards and gift-card program for regulars. According to the restaurant's website (funkyfriesandburgers.com), the page carried a 2026 copyright notice and an HTTP last-modified header dated 2026-09-08, listed current Thursday-through-Saturday hours, and offered online ordering — evidence the burger shop remains open. The restaurant's own website lists its exact street address as 101 West Washington Avenue in downtown El Cajon.

We work hard to keep every status accurate and dated, but restaurants change fast and our sources aren't perfect. If something here is wrong — a status, a name, an address, anything — tell us what you're seeing and where you saw it, and we'll check it.
