What happened after Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives?
Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives (Food Network) featured Giuseppe's Restaurant, later known as Giuseppe's On 28th, in the episode "Homestyle," aired 2009-06-01, highlighting owner Richard Bock's generous-portion Italian cooking and hospitality. Bock, a former professional cellist who performed with orchestras including time in Florence, Italy, opened the Phoenix restaurant in 2002 and ran it for nearly 25 years on East Indian School Road. The restaurant was later revisited on the Food Network spinoff series Triple D Nation, and an archive site for the business lists four Best of Phoenix honors from Phoenix New Times and five Diners' Choice Awards.
According to an independent archive site for the restaurant, unaffiliated with any currently operating business, Giuseppe's served its final meal on 2026-03-22. Yelp's business listing for the address carried a closed designation, with the page updated into September 2026, consistent with that closure date.
