Man v. Food's Casey Webb stopped at Grinders in Kansas City's Crossroads Arts District, an artist-founded pizza-and-sandwich spot known for New York-style pies, Philly cheesesteaks, and its Death Wings chicken wings. Grinders was started by artist STRETCH, who opened a Crossroads studio in 1992 and later built the restaurant around a shared food-art-music theme, according to the restaurant's own website. The location has also been recognized on Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives for its Chili-Bomb pizza. Since the episode, the restaurant's own site and current delivery listings on DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Toast show it still operating at the same East 18th Street address, and an OpenTable listing updated in 2026 shows the venue accepting reservations for its adjoining event space, Grinders KC Event Venue.
