What happened after Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives?
On Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, Guy Fieri visited the dining room at this historic Ferndale hotel and highlighted its Chicken Cacciatore, a slow-braised chicken in a tomato-based sauce with peppers and onions, and an Italian sausage risotto made with house-made sausage. The Ivanhoe operates as a restaurant, bar and small hotel on Main Street in the Victorian dairy town of Ferndale. Previous operators Barb and Dave Mogni closed the business around 2020. According to the North Coast Journal (2025-01-09), Geoffrey Musselman, a retired plumber who grew up in nearby Arcata, then took over the property, saying "we're gonna keep it basically the same" about the historic menu while renovating the hotel rooms upstairs. A Yelp listing updated in August 2026 shows the restaurant and saloon operating Monday and Thursday through Sunday from 4 to 10 p.m., with Tuesday and Wednesday closed.
