What happened after Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives?
Part 1 — Season 14, Episode 12 Aired
On the July 2012 Dynamic Dishes episode of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, Guy Fieri sampled Jamaican-style jerk chicken and Caribbean sides at this Honolulu eatery, whose name blended Jamaican and Hawaiian influences into an island fusion menu. The restaurant operated as a Caribbean spot in Honolulu's Kaimuki neighborhood, with a Kaimuki Hawaii business directory listing its address as 1137 11th Avenue. Marinated jerk meats and Hawaiian-style plate sides anchored the menu that drew the show's crew to the location. According to Yelp, the restaurant's page has been marked permanently closed, with an April 2026 update reflecting no ongoing activity.
Restaurantji and Triple D Life, two independent Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives fan sites, also list the location as closed, though neither specifies an exact closure date. No current website, phone listing, or 2026 customer reviews were located for the business.
Part 2 — Season 19, Episode 15 Aired
On the Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives episode 'Grilling Greats' (aired 2014-06-21), Guy Fieri returned to Jawaiian Irie Jerk Restaurant, a Jamaican restaurant that opened in Honolulu in August 2011. According to FlavortownUSA.com, Fieri sampled the restaurant's jerk chicken, curry goat stew, and spicy jerk wings, alongside a side of peas and rice. The segment highlighted the restaurant's Jamaican grilling techniques and spice blends brought to a Hawaiian setting behind a row of Waialae Avenue storefronts near Kaimuki Park. The visit left Fieri's signature stamp of approval displayed on the restaurant's wall.
