What happened after Hotel Impossible?
Hotel Impossible visited the Lankford Hotel in Ocean City, Maryland for the episode Boardwalk Gold (S3E7), aired September 23, 2013. Episode coverage describes a family-run hotel, built in 1924 by Ocean City developer Mary Quillen and still operated by her descendants, where Anthony Melchiorri found guest rooms and hotel policies that had gone unchanged since the 1960s, along with on-site shops that were not turning a profit. MD Coast Dispatch, an Ocean City news outlet, reported on September 19, 2013 that the family had arranged the crew's visit directly, and that the hotel was operating under that same family's ownership at the time.
According to Rescue Show Guide, a site tracking the current status of properties featured on renovation shows, the Lankford Hotel was confirmed operating as of a check dated July 19, 2026. A check of the property's own website on 2026-09-09 found lankfordhotel.net live, with a copyright line and page content both reading 2026, listing rooms, apartments, a gallery, hotel history, and contact information, along with a direct hotel phone line. Reality TV Revisited separately reported that the property was sold after being listed for sale in December 2018. The hotel's own history page describes the original 1920s-era cottages and apartment buildings around 8th Street as part of the same complex Mary Quillen developed, and notes the property has remained in her family's hands since.
