What happened after Mystery Diners?
On the Season 9 episode "Deli Drama" (Mystery Diners, aired 2015-02-11), Lenny, owner of Lenny's Deli in Los Angeles, feared his newly hired baker was taking creative liberties with customers' cake orders and asked investigator Charles Stiles to look into it; mystery diners Kiel and Kendall went undercover and reported finding a larger problem inside the deli beyond the bakery counter. According to Wikipedia's article on the program, citing its sources, the show's own end-credits disclaimer allows that certain events may have been staged or re-enacted for dramatic effect, and a television critic quoted in the article described the show's setups as unconvincing. Google's business listing for the Westwood Boulevard address marked Lenny's Deli permanently closed, and the deli's own website, checked on 2026-09-09, still displayed a 2016 copyright notice and an online-ordering promotion offering first-time customers a discount coupon, with no content, menu, or hours updates dated after that year. this check did not locate a dated news account giving a specific closure date, and the stale 2016 site content is treated here only as weak corroboration, not proof, of the closure. No relocation or new tenant at the Westwood Boulevard address was identified in the sources checked.
