What happened after Bar Rescue?
Mary's Outpost in Grand Prairie, Texas, was featured in the May 4, 2014 episode "Scary Mary's." Co-owners Bill and Joe had run the bar together since 2009; Bill's wife Kimmie worked as general manager, while bartender Pinky was shown undermining Kimmie's authority. Recon visits found servers delivering warm beer and undercooked food, and, more seriously, owner Bill was shown inviting female patrons into the back office and asking them to remove clothing -- behavior the show's producers and on-air host confronted him over directly as inappropriate toward customers. The bar was also cited during the visit for cleanliness issues in the kitchen and bar area and for lacking a functioning point-of-sale system.
Following the confrontation, Bill apologized to his wife and staff and committed to changing his conduct. Mixologist Lisamarie Joyce and a chef consultant retrained the bar and kitchen staff on drink and food preparation, and bartender Pinky was dismissed at Kimmie's request before being rehired at a later date, according to online commenters citing the show's own footage. As part of the physical renovation, the bar was renamed Thirsty's Roadside Bar, and the space was given brighter, updated decor with sponsor support. Following the six-week check-in, food sales were reported up substantially.
Owners Bill and Joe subsequently dropped the Thirsty's Roadside Bar name and returned to operating the bar as Mary's Outpost, the name it carried before Bar Rescue's visit; the exact date of that change has not been independently dated. The bar's own website lists its current address, phone number, and hours of operation and promotes an upcoming watch event for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, indicating the business remains active under the Mary's Outpost name. Online reviews posted in the years after the episode aired have been mixed, with some patrons praising the karaoke nights and pool tables and others describing service issues, though the business has continued to advertise regular event programming on its own channels.
