What happened after Bar Rescue?
The End Zone Sports Bar and Grill in Houston, Texas, appeared in the "Muscle Madness" episode, which aired earlier in Season 3. Co-owners Justin Whitfield and Shawn, both bodybuilders with backgrounds in stripping and mixed martial arts, ran a sports bar carrying more than $200,000 in debt despite a location near several sports venues that had once generated over $100,000 in monthly revenue. Recon visits documented bartenders drinking on shift, poor kitchen hygiene during food prep, and a physical altercation between the two owners as well as a separate fight between two female employees while the bar was under observation. A stress test intended to test the retrained staff went poorly enough that the host halted service partway through.
To rebuild the bar's identity, the rescue team kept the sports-bar concept but renamed the business Houston Sports Hub, added new point-of-sale equipment and draft-beer technology, and had a mixologist and chef retrain the bar and kitchen staff on drink consistency and food safety respectively. Two months after the relaunch, sales were reported up roughly 30%. In a follow-up "Back to the Bar" episode, the show revisited the bar's kitchen and reported improved conditions, though by that point co-owner Shawn had left to open a separate, competing bar nearby.
After the relaunch, the business gradually reverted much of its branding to the original End Zone name, and owner Justin Whitfield later sold the business; he went on to purchase a different Bar Rescue bar, the Wildcatter Saloon in Katy, Texas (formerly Bryant's Ice House). The Houston address subsequently operated for a period as Player's Sports Lounge under new ownership. A dated online comment from January 2026 states that Player's Sports Lounge is now listed as permanently closed and that a business called Luxe Restaurant and Bar may occupy the address based on similar interior photography, but this has not been confirmed through a named news source, so the property's current status could not be independently verified for this listing.
