What happened after Food Paradise?

The Food Paradise episode "Crunch Time" featured Michael Mina's Pub 1842, spotlighting the beer-focused gastropub's classic pub fare and its name, drawn from the year pilsner beer was invented. Pub 1842 operated inside the MGM Grand on the Las Vegas Strip as a project of chef Michael Mina. According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Pub 1842 closed in November 2019 to make way for International Smoke, a wood-fired concept from Michael Mina and Ayesha Curry. A Yelp listing for the business, updated in June 2026, continues to mark Pub 1842 closed, and the restaurant's page on the MGM Grand website returned no response during a 2026-09-08 check, per mgmgrand.mgmresorts.com.
