What happened after Project Bakeover?

Mike's Old Fashioned Bakery, in the Nashwaaksis area of Fredericton, New Brunswick, was the sixth episode of Project Bakeover (Food Network Canada) season two, “How the Cookie Crumbles,” first aired on 2022-05-05 according to Wikipedia's episode table. According to Wikipedia's article on the series, host Steve Hodge and designer Tiffany Pratt help bakeries update their menus and decor, and season two ran ten episodes from 2022-03-31 to 2022-06-02. The table lists three items created for the bakery: pastry pockets, stuffed gougères and a cookie dough cheesecake.

The sources reviewed for this page do not describe the bakery's problems as shown on air, the redesign or the relaunch beyond the episode title, and no street address for the featured bakery was found. Two searches for the name returned no business listed as Mike's Old Fashioned Bakery. Google's place search for the name returned Mike & Co. at 230 Main Street, Fredericton, but that is a different name and was not used here. The bakery's address, hours and ownership therefore remain unconfirmed.

Two pages describe Fredericton bakeries with similar names. The website mikeco.ca describes Mike & Co. as family-owned, founded in 1976 in St-Léonard, New Brunswick, and relocated to Fredericton in 1990, with hours of Monday to Saturday 8am to 8pm and Sunday 9am to 8pm. Fredericton Capital Region's blog post dated 2026-07-15 lists nine bakeries and dessert shops; eight carry other names, and the ninth is a family-owned Mikes Bakery, listed without a street address and linked to mikesbakery.ca. Neither page mentions the show, the words Old Fashioned or Nashwaaksis, so this page makes no claim that either business is the one featured in the episode.

Google's place search, run on 2026-10-19 for both Mike's Bakery and Mike's Old Fashioned Bakery in Fredericton, returns a single bakery, Mike & Co. at 230 Main Street on the city's north side, and its Google Maps listing shows it operating, with the newest reviews shown dated April, June 15 and June 28, 2026. According to mikeco.ca, Mike & Co. is a family-owned bakery founded in 1976 that moved to Fredericton in 1990. A Fredericton Capital Region blog post dated 2026-07-15 also lists a family-owned Mikes Bakery in the city.
