What happened after Project Bakeover?

Monkey Cakes, a Fredericton, New Brunswick bakery, was the ninth episode of Project Bakeover (Food Network Canada) season two, “Fresh Baked Fun,” first aired on 2022-05-26. According to Wikipedia's article on the series, host Steve Hodge and designer Tiffany Pratt help bakeries update their menus and decor, and season two ran ten episodes from 2022-03-31 to 2022-06-02. Wikipedia's episode table lists three items created for the bakery: savoury pinwheels, a Swiss meringue mini loaf and infused chocolate bars, including chili chocolate bars. The sources reviewed for this page do not describe the problems shown on air, the redesign or the relaunch beyond the episode title. Monkey Cakes was one of two New Brunswick bakeries in the season, the other being Mike's Old Fashioned Bakery in an episode that aired three weeks earlier.

The bakery was listed at 1111 Regent Street, Unit 3, Fredericton, with the website monkeycakes.ca. That website did not respond when checked on 2026-10-19. Google's place record for the business, read on the same day, lists it as permanently closed and gives no closure date.
