What happened after Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives?

Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives featured Moseberth's Fried Chicken on the S13E12 episode 'Time Tested Treasures,' which aired 2012-02-27, spotlighting the Portsmouth restaurant's fried chicken, chicken gizzards, and pork barbecue. Moseberth's operated as a family-run fried chicken and barbecue spot on Airline Boulevard in Portsmouth, Virginia, for more than eight decades before its closure. According to 13News Now (2021-04), Moseberth's Chicken and BBQ closed after 81 years in business, and WAVY (2021-04) reported the closure came after the restaurant's hood exhaust system stopped working and the cost of replacing it, combined with rising food and supply prices, led the owners to close. A Google Places listing checked on 2026-09-08 marks the business as permanently closed. The restaurant's website, moseberths.com, remained online at that check but showed no dated content confirming current operation, consistent with the reported closure.
