The Old Coffeepot Restaurant was a French Quarter institution on St. Peter Street in New Orleans that had served Cajun and Creole classics for roughly 125 years by the time Gordon Ramsay visited for the second episode of the series, filmed in late 2017 and aired in June 2018. The show found a restaurant coasting on its history: dated decor, an oversized menu, and kitchen practices that had fallen behind the standards of the surrounding tourist district. Ramsay's team streamlined the menu around the kitchen's traditional strengths, refreshed the dining room, and worked with staff on service and food-safety habits before reopening the restaurant to customers within 24 hours.
