What happened after Man v. Food?
A 2011-07-13 episode (S4E8) featured this Gulf Shores seafood restaurant, known since 1983 for fresh-shucked Gulf oysters, seafood platters, and gumbo served on a boardwalk overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway. The restaurant is part of a small Alabama chain with a second, older location in Mobile. According to the business's own website (originaloysterhouse.com), checked on 2026-09-08, the site listed current dinner, lunch, and drinks menus for both the Gulf Shores and Mobile Causeway locations, alongside employment and shop pages, carrying a 2023 copyright notice and otherwise current page content. Google Places lists the Gulf Shores location, labeled Original Oyster House Boardwalk, as operational per the same check. No independent news coverage of a closure or ownership change was found in this check.

We work hard to keep every status accurate and dated, but restaurants change fast and our sources aren't perfect. If something here is wrong — a status, a name, an address, anything — tell us what you're seeing and where you saw it, and we'll check it.
