What happened after Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives?
Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives visited Southwood Kitchen in Daphne, Alabama, for the 'Sandwich-Fest' episode, which aired October 27, 2023, spotlighting the restaurant's sandwich menu. Southwood Kitchen describes itself as a casual fine-dining restaurant and neighborhood bar on U.S. Highway 98, according to its website, southwoodkitchen.com. A September 8, 2026 check of that site found a 2026 date reference in the page text along with a working reservation system, and posted hours of 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for Saturday lunch and 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday for dinner, according to the site.
Google Places also listed the business as operational as of that date. The site's framing of the restaurant as a 'casual fine dining' neighborhood spot matched the concept covered in the 2023 broadcast, and no additional dated update beyond the current reservations page and the Places listing was found during the check.

We work hard to keep every status accurate and dated, but restaurants change fast and our sources aren't perfect. If something here is wrong — a status, a name, an address, anything — tell us what you're seeing and where you saw it, and we'll check it.
