What happened after Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives?

Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives featured Percy Street Barbecue in the episode "A Festival of Flavor," aired 2013-06-17, spotlighting the restaurant's Texas-style smoked barbecue and Southern sides. Percy Street Barbecue operated as a barbecue restaurant at 900 South Street in Philadelphia. According to Billy Penn, the restaurant shut down in August 2017 after water damage from building leaks and flooding forced an indefinite closure; the owner said at the time, "every day we just wait for answers." According to Billy Penn, a separate, week-earlier health department shutdown had also occurred at the location.

A Yelp listing updated in September 2026 still marks the South Street address as permanently closed, with no reopening reported in the years since 2017. No successor restaurant under the Percy Street Barbecue name has been reported at any Philadelphia address since the 2017 closure.
