What happened after Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives?

Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives featured Ramen Del Barrio's Japanese-Mexican mashup, highlighting its carnitas tonkotsu ramen, a pork broth bowl finished with shoyu tare, mixed carnitas, grilled peppers and onions, radishes, and tortilla strips, according to the restaurant's own website. The Austin restaurant blends ramen technique with Mexican flavors and was named to the Austin American-Statesman's 2023 Best New Restaurants list. Since the episode aired, the restaurant lost its original food-court space when Hana World Market wound down in late 2025, according to Hoodline. Owner Christopher Krinsky told Hoodline that building out a standalone location took longer than planned.
