What happened after Food Paradise?
On Food Paradise's 2013 episode 'Deli Paradise' (Travel Channel), the show visited Rubin's Kosher Delicatessen in Brookline, Massachusetts, spotlighting the deli's classic kosher fare, including pastrami and corned beef sandwiches and matzo ball soup. Rubin's was a kosher delicatessen and restaurant that had operated on Harvard Street in Brookline since 1927. According to CBS Boston and Boston Magazine, Rubin's abruptly closed on August 5, 2016, ending a 90-year run; co-owners Erica and Allen Gellerman announced the closure in a Facebook post, writing "We will miss all our loyal customers." Patch reported later in 2016 that the building's new owner had discussed keeping a restaurant in the space, but a Yelp listing for Rubin's Kosher Restaurant, updated in September 2026, still marks the business permanently closed.
