What happened after Food Paradise?
Food Paradise's 'Deep Fried Paradise' (S1E15) featured Rutt's Hut, spotlighting the Clifton, New Jersey restaurant's deep-fried hot dog, nicknamed the Ripper, and its proprietary relish. Rutt's Hut began as a roadside stand opened in 1928 by Royal 'Abe' Rutt and his wife, Anna, and was sold to its current ownership group in late 1974, according to Wikipedia (revised 2026-07-11). The restaurant, split into a bar-and-restaurant section and a take-out counter, operates on River Road in Clifton. Google Places lists Rutt's Hut's business status as operational, checked 2026-09-08, and the restaurant's own website (ruttshut.com) remained reachable with a working online-ordering link the same date, though its posted copyright notice still reads 2019, indicating the site has not been recently refreshed. Because the most current dated confirmation available is the ordering link and Places status rather than 2026-dated site content, this record is treated as reported rather than fully verified.

We work hard to keep every status accurate and dated, but restaurants change fast and our sources aren't perfect. If something here is wrong — a status, a name, an address, anything — tell us what you're seeing and where you saw it, and we'll check it.
