The segment centered on the restaurant's Thanksgiving specials, including oyster-stuffed turkey and pumpkin bread pudding, alongside its regular menu of towering po'boys and deli sandwiches. Part 2 — Season 23, Episode 16 Aired
On the 'Ultimate Turkey Fest' compilation special, Guy Fieri revisited Sammy's Food Service & Deli, a New Orleans deli that traces back to owner Sammy's apprenticeship at his uncle John Shambra's butcher shop and makes its meats in house. The turkey-themed segment featured Sammy's Turkey Dinner with oyster gravy stuffing, made with green and red bell peppers, oysters, French bread and bechamel sauce, plus a pumpkin bread pudding, according to Flavortown USA's account of the visit. Yelp's business listing for Sammy's, refreshed in September 2026, posted weekday hours of 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., extended hours to 7 p.m. on Friday, and 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, with the deli closed Sundays, and carried current customer photos and reviews at the deli's Elysian Fields Avenue address.
