What happened after Food Paradise?

On Food Paradise's "Aloha, Hawaii" episode, Sam's Ocean View Restaurant & Bar was featured for its Kapaa dining room overlooking the Kauai coastline, with the show highlighting the restaurant's mix of local plate-lunch fare and ocean-view seating. The restaurant operated for years along the Kuhio Highway corridor in Kapaa as a casual sit-down spot popular with visitors staying nearby. A Google Places listing checked 2026-09-08 lists Sam's Ocean View as permanently closed. The restaurant's former website at samsoceanview.com returned an HTTP 404 error when checked the same day, with no replacement page or successor business found at the Kuhio Highway address. No news coverage naming a specific closure date was located beyond the listing itself.
