Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives pulled into Smokey Valley Truck Stop for its country ham and made-from-scratch biscuits and gravy during the 'Like Mama Made' episode. The restaurant operated inside a working truck stop in Olive Hill, Kentucky, pairing a full diner counter with fuel and rest stops for long-haul drivers as well as local regulars. The truck stop was one of the more remote, off-the-interstate stops the show visited in its third season. A Yelp listing updated 2025-06 marks the restaurant permanently closed, and a Foursquare listing likewise shows it as closed, with no successor business identified at the Bond Lane address. Owners Juanita and the late Benny Flannery opened the truck stop in 1978 after Mr. Flannery lost his job at a local brick plant, and Ms. Flannery closed the business after 42 years, citing plumbing issues, according to the Daily Independent.
