What happened after Restaurant Stakeout?

In 'Your Mom's Gotta Go,' Willie Degel installed hidden cameras inside Sugo Cafe, a family-run Italian restaurant in Long Beach whose owner, a self-described control freak, was struggling to keep the business open while barely seeing his own wife and kids. The title points to a family-management conflict the cameras exposed: an older relative's continued hands-on involvement in daily operations was clashing with how the owner needed the restaurant run. At the staff meeting, Willie laid out what the footage showed and pushed the owner to set clearer boundaries on who managed which parts of the business, delegate more to trained staff, and reclaim time for his family without losing control of quality.

He returned later to check whether the new structure had held. Sugo Cafe later closed, and LB Social, a different seasonal New American restaurant and wine bar owned by Matthew Hisiger, now operates at the same 62 West Park Avenue address; its website says it was established in 2016 and does not mention Sugo Cafe. A Yelp listing for LB Social was updated in May 2026 with no closure marker, and the restaurant's own website was live with current menus and hours when checked. Wikipedia's article on the series notes that it has been described as scripted, citing a 2012 realityblurred.com report that questioned the show's authenticity.
